FINANCIAL SUPPORT
One of our college best practices is Aakanksha.
Akanksha is MES College of Arts, Commerce and Science Teachers Association’s Initiative towards financial assistance to economically weaker and meritorious students.
The objectives are:
- To help the economically weak students.With financial assistance from the College
- It helps to assist the needy students in fulfilling their dreams of education.
- It enables the students to pursue their education by encouraging and empowering them without any interruption
- It provides an opportunity to the teachers in helping the needy and meritorious students by their regular contribution.
- Akanksha identifies students of all streams BSC,BA,BCom,PG Mathematics, PG Kannada through the faculty from each department and gives scholarships to the needy students.
The student welfare fund supports the economically weaker section. Applications for student welfare funds are intimated through students Whatsapp groups mentioning date, time and venue of distribution. Applications are distributed to all the three-year students with instructions as per the criterion recommended in the MES student welfare fund scheme revised guidelines, for the following:
- Financial assistance (FA)
- Nutritional supplement (NU)
- Note books (NB)
Subsequently applications will be scrutinised by the team members. The scrutiny is based on the criterion as well single parenting and poor background with the help of subject teachers and some face-to-face interview with some of the students.
